Itzhak Gilboa is a Professor of Economics and Decision Sciences at HEC, Paris, and Professor at the Eitan Berglas School of Economics, Tel-Aviv University. He works in decision theory and other fields in economic theory such as game theory and social choice.  His main interest is in decision under uncertainty, focusing on the definition of probability, notions of rationality, non-Bayesian decision models, and related issues. He holds the AXA-HEC Chair for Decision Science.

Katharine Mach is an Associate Professor at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and a faculty scholar at the UM Abess Center, focused on environmental science and policy. Her research assesses climate change risks and response options to address increased flooding, extreme heat, wildfire, and other hazards. From 2010 until 2015, she co-directed the scientific activities of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which culminated in the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report and have supported diverse climate policies and actions, including the Paris Agreement.

David Stainforth is Professorial Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and the Centre for the Analysis of Timeseries at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on climate modelling experiments and their interpretation for science and policy decisions, as well as on the communication of climate science to the public and decision makers, in particular for adaptation planning, economic assessments of climate change, and decision making in the context of climate adaptation. He has co-founded and was chief scientist of the climateprediction.net project, the world’s largest climate modelling experiment.
